I have created this blog for the purpose of documenting my adventure through the American health care system. Being a health care "regular," I have all sorts of insights and information that I feel people should know about how our system works, and what is wrong with it - from a first person, front lines perspective. I'll try to be as open as possible about everything going on.
Mainly, I want a place to vent and talk about my health care issues where people can read about them, but not necessarily people that I know. I hope you enjoy.

Dear Sam, I am writing to you because I am dealing with a similar heart problem and my symptoms are the same as yours. I have tried 4 different medications, one of which required hospitalization. I have bigemny PVCs with unsustained ventricular tachycardia which can occur off and one only a few beats in between v-tach and normal, for hours. I have also had one failed cardiac ablation. The procedure took over 5 hours when it was only suppose to be 4 and I ended up in the hospital for 4 days, 2 1/2 in the ICU. The reason I am writing you is because I want to know if your situation was ever resolved, and if so what was your treatment. They are encouraging me to go to the Mayo Clinic and attempt another ablation. However I am searching for alternative options since the first procedure didn't go well. I am young, only 30, and am concerned about the long term effects on my heart and also the risk of sudden cardiac arrest. Therefore no treatment is not an option but if you had any insight I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
